When Our Schedule Gets Messed up

We all have days at work when our schedule gets messed up. Maybe it’s an impromptu meeting that your boss calls, a sick co-worker that you need to cover for, or perhaps a puppy in the street slows your morning commute.

Whatever the reason, when your agenda goes awry, ask yourself, “What might the Lord Jesus want to do with me in this situation?” Is there something in this upside down moment that God is trying to teach me? Is there someone He wants me to connect with that can only happen through a change in my plans for the day? Is there a Life Lesson He is trying to teach me? Is He showing me my heart by how I respond to the chaos thrust upon me?

Remain open.

Enter your day, not with your hands tightly holding the reins, but rather let them lie loosely across your palm, so that the Lord Jesus has the liberty to guide you wherever He pleases, and to whomever He pleases.

Let’s Pray

Precious Lord Jesus. You know all that is going to happen to me today. You know who will be in the office and who won’t. Lord, you know what kind of morning my coworker’s have had. What they dreamt about. And what things will affect their day and mine. Be with me today Jesus. Order my schedule. Help me to remain open to You, embrace whatever changes may come my way. In your holy name, Amen.
