As I followed the New York Primary last night, and listened to the victory speeches of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump I shook my head in bewilderment at what has happened to the integrity, greatness, and common sense of our country… I prayed, “God forgive America.”
Whether you are Republican or Democrat or have never voted before, one thing is for sure, this presidential election has gotten more attention, and caused more thought and reflection, than any in recent history.
A Blessed Country
The United States of America had been a blessed country. We were the home of the free. The land of the brave. Other nations looked to us. And many sacrificed all in the hope that they could one day step onto
Ellis Island and begin to fulfill their personal American Dream.
We were one nation UNDER GOD, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. But when the under God part started to fade away, so did our blessings. And so I have begun praying in earnest for God to forgive us and to make American great once again, not because a particular candidate made it so, but because, we as a nation have humbled ourselves before God and earnestly asked Him to forgive our arrogance… and ignorance in shutting Him out of lives – both publicly and privately.
God Forgive America
God Forgive America, and forgive our presidents, senators, congressmen, governors, and mayors for deciding they wanted the liberty and justice for all, without the unity under God.
God Forgive America for taking prayer out of schools.Read “What Happened When the Praying Stopped.”
God Forgive America for removing the ten commandmentsfrom courthouse walls and community centers.
God Forgive America for challenging government entities who publicly display the nativity.
God Forgive America for not recognizing and appreciating that we were the apple of your eye, the envy of every nation on earth.
God Forgive America for becoming like the nation of Israel as told in the Holy Bible:
They have quickly turned aside from the way which I commanded them. They have made for themselves a molten calf, and have worshiped it and have sacrificed to it and said, ‘This is your god, O Israel, who brought you up from the land of Egypt!'” The LORD said to Moses, “I have seen this people, and behold, they are an obstinate people. Now then let Me alone, that My anger may burn against them and that I may destroy them; and I will make of you a great nation. -Exodus 32:8-10
God Forgive America for disregarding your blessings, and finding ourselves dancing around themolten calf.
God Forgive Americafor not acknowledging that it is you that turns the necks of kings, and sets one up and takes another down, for we know that your Holy Word says:
The king’s heart is like channels of water in the hand of the LORD; He turns it wherever He wishes. -Proverbs 21:1
God Forgive America for not understanding that no matter what Ted Cruz, John Kasich, Hillary Clinton, or Donald Trump do, at the end of the day, it is You that will have your way in the American political process. And that the only question that remains is will you forgive us and once again find favor with America, or will You, because of our rebelliousness, give us corrupt leadership that will lead us further down the path of destruction?
We humbly, and earnestly ask You Jehovah God to give us solid leadership that loves You, honors You, and fears You.
In Jesus Name,
Amen
I believe the outcome is still in our hands… if we will pray. If we will intercede. If we will say, God Forgive America.
Seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the LORD on its behalf; for in its welfare you will have welfare. -Jeremiah 29:7
