With the Vice-Presidential Debate tonight between Mike Pence and Tim Kaine and only 34 days left until the election, my prayers for our great country have increased, and I find myself praying for the election, and praying ever more earnestly that righteousness and praise will spring forth.
“For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth things that are sown in it to spring forth, so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.” –Isaiah 61:11
The Bible tells us to pray for our leaders so that we might have peace in our land. (Jeremiah 29:7) And the Bible also tells us that “The king’s heart in the hand of the LORD,as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.” (Proverbs 21:1) And that is exactly what I am doing.
Yet, I can’t help but feel that this presidential election, more than any other in my lifetime, will have a profound effect on my future. And so I pray, and I invite you to pray with me because we know that the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. (James 5:16)
Praying for the Election…
Pray for unity.
ray for integrity.
Pray for our leaders to adhere to Biblical principles.
Pray for God’s will to prevail in our country.
Pray for God’s truths to saturate our world.
Pray for Donald Trump.
Pray for Hillary Clinton.
Pray for all those running for a public office.
Pray that our nation will once again bow their knees in holy reverence to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.
Pray not for your choice for the presidency to win, but for God to put in office whoever will fulfill His purpose.
