Sante Fe & Social Media Kindness

The time for Social Media Kindness has come. As yet another set of  parents are notified that an active shooter has murdered their child, can we all set our personal agendas aside and speak good? Can we come together and recognize that the time for Social Media Kindness has come?
It is time to speak well of your enemies. It is time to turn the other cheek. It is time to give your enemy your coat and your cloak also. It is time to use a soft answer to turn away wrath. In short, it is time to use your social media to calm and soothe instead inflame.
I honestly cannot imagine what the parents of the Douglas High School students went through when they were told that their child had been shot and killed by Nicolas Cruz. Nor can I fully understand what the parents of the 10 murdered Sante Fe High School students must be going through right now. But I do understand that the last thing they need is to turn on the news or go to their social media platforms and see more rage, more division, and more violence. In death, there is no right or left, no liberal or conservative, there is only eternity.
Can we pause and think about eternity before we post? The Holy Bible says that one day we will give an account for every careless word we speak. (Matthew 12:36)
My heart is hurting for the people of Sante Fe, Texas today. And my spirit is grieved at the social media mud-slinging that goes on. As for me and my house, I choose Social Media Kindness. How about you?

A PRAYER FOR SANTE FE

Precious Lord Jesus, how today’s tragedy must grieve you. Your word says that you are nigh unto the broken hearted and that you carry our tears in a bottle. Jesus, would go send your spirit to each and every person that was affected by the Sante Fe shooting today? Would you envelope them with your love, with your peace, and with the hope of better days to come? Lord Jesus, would you bind the evil in that wants to prevail and loose your triumphant good? Please Lord comfort the grieving and bring calm to the frightened. In your holy name, Amen.
