“To Be Remembered” -Princess Grace

“I would like to be remembered as someone who accomplished useful deeds, and who was a kind and loving person. I would like to leave the memory of a human being with a correct attitude and who did her best to help others.”-Princess Grace Kelly

Yes, wouldn’t we all like to be remembered like that?

Accomplished. Useful. Kind. Loving. And yet we know from scripture that being all of those isn’t enough.

It is a sobering thought. And one we don’t like to think about, but nonetheless, the Holy Bible tells us that there is much more to making heaven than just being good.

heaven

Scripture tells us that there will even be some who dynamically represented Christ that won’t make heaven.

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” (Matthew 7:21-23)

Let’s Pray:

“Lord Jesus, make us like you. Help us to do all to honor you. To represent you. And to reach others for the gospel. If there is anything in us that would prevent us making heaven please show it to us. Oh Lord Jesus, save us from ourselves. Save us from the terrible shortcomings that spring up within us. Empower us to be more like you so that we will be remembered as one of your true servants. In Your Holy Name, Amen.”
